Features

• Fusible resistors are triggered instantly on contact with mains voltage (230Veff), without flame or explosion. • The resistor wire is wound around a capped ceramic carrier and fused to the caps. • In case of vaporisation of the wire, a special varnish absorbs the metal vapour and prevents arcing and consequent short circuit. • The winding wire is dimensioned in such a way that, for all resistance values between 10R and 330R (100R for the 251-4 model), vaporisation occurs with mains voltage. • The resistor elements are encased in a silicon varnish and, in the classic sense, are not electrically insulated. • For resistance values under 10R as well as for other voltages, it has been ensured that the resistor is flame retardant. • The triggering function, however, has to be tested on an individual basis.
