XMOS’ xcore is a unique semiconductor platform that enables the most integrated and differentiated solutions purely in software. Applications range in diversity from the highest quality audio to the highest precision motor control. XMOS’ mission is to deliver the most adaptable, efficient and accessible embedded computers for every application. The XMOS processor handles primarily the interfaces, including USB connections, SPDIF/AES-EBU connection and I2S input from the Wi-Fi/Network audio module. All inputs are decoded, pass through a memory buffer, then DSD/DOP decoding is applied and MQA decoding. Also, the entire user interface, display control etc. are handled by the XMOS processor. The part we use is a 16-Core / 2,000 MIPS part.
