Venkel’s Surface Mount Devices (SMD) series of NTC thermistors are designed for temperature measurement, control, and compensation. They are compatible with standard soldering techniques and come in various sizes, including 0402, 0603, 0805, and 1206.

Description

Venkel’s Chip NTC Thermistors are developed especially for surface mounting applications. They are widely used for temperature compensation, but can also achieve temperature control of printed circuits in a wide range of applications, including general purpose, automotive, or custom high reliability. SMD Thermistors are available with Ni barrier/100% Sn termination for lead free soldering or with PdAg termination for hybrid assembly.

Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) thermistors are thermally sensitive semiconductor resistors that decrease in resistance as the temperature increases. Venkel brand SMD NTC thermistors are simple yet highly sensitive and accurate sensing elements for temperature measurement and control in circuits.

NTC SMD thermistors are multilayer devices whose resistance inversely changes with temperature. These thermistors are used to detect, measure, or compensate for temperature, such as monitoring battery charging to determine when the battery is fully charged.

Venkel provides a wide selection of Surface Mount NTC thermistors. Panasonic’s thermistors are also highly effective for temperature detection and compensation applications, known for their small size, lightweight design, and suitability for high-density placement.
